HeliBoard is an open-source Android input method based on the AOSP keyboard branch, comparable to system keyboards such as Gboard. It is GPL-3.0 licensed, fully offline and does not request network permission, supports themes, multiple languages and glide typing (library must be imported manually), and is distributed via F-Droid.

It is not a server-side product, so there is basically no self-hosting: install the APK/F-Droid package and no server resources are required. Users in China should verify Chinese input and candidate/emoji compatibility inside WeChat; because it does not connect to the internet, cloud dictionaries, WeChat ecosystem capabilities and integrations with domestic service providers are generally not applicable.
